Wander through the forest or take an amble along a beach in Gifts from the Bush and Beach, an exhibition of watercolours by Sue Kalab on show at the Collie Art Gallery.
Sue’s beautiful watercolours feature such delights as a magpie carolling, finds on the forest floor, a pristine shell washed up on the beach, pelicans in flight across an azure sky or the annual return of Siberian migratory wader-birds.
Sue’s works are characteristic fragments of the Australian scene, shining a light on nature. This is an exhibition of aesthetic beauty, whilst it educates, entertains and enlightens.
The paintings are a backdrop for a series of public talks during the exhibition such as birds and their curious lives, and also why Australia’s South West is a world-famous biodiversity hot spot.
Gifts from the Bush and Beach is on show 10am-4pm, Thursdays through Mondays, until 9 September 2018.
