Business Connections: Government Support for Local Businesses – Collie Small Grants Program

The Collie Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) recently hosted another successful Business Connections networking event, bringing together local businesses, industry representatives, and community leaders to strengthen connections, share information, and highlight current supports available to the region.

 

The evening was officially opened with a warm welcome to attendees and an acknowledgement of the importance of coming together as a business community to connect, collaborate, and explore opportunities for growth.

 

Event Highlights

The event focused on strengthening local enterprise and supporting continued business growth across the Collie region through connection, collaboration, and access to key support services.

 

Attendees were welcomed by the Collie Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with acknowledgement of Chamber Management Committee members in attendance, including Natalie Cook, Dee O’Brien, Tom Readon and Alecia Swan.

 

The Chamber was also pleased to welcome Member for Collie-Preston, Jodie Hanns MLA, who hosted the evening and officially opened proceedings. The Chamber thanked Ms Hanns for her ongoing support of the local business community.

 

Program Overview

The evening featured presentations and updates on a range of programs and services supporting local business development and regional growth.

 

Attendees heard about the Collie Futures Small Grant Program, including its role in supporting local businesses, job creation, and economic diversification within the region.

 

Kelly Paul, representing the South West Development Commission (SWDC), provided an overview of the newly designed Collie Futures Small Grant Program (CFSGP). This included a detailed outline of the program, through which funding of up to $100,000 per project is available for initiatives that deliver economic and/or community benefit to the Collie region as part of Collie’s Just Transition. The program is now open and will remain so while funds are available.
