CCCI Collie Art Gallery Business Connections
The Collie Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) proudly hosted its latest Business Connections event, helping celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Collie Art Gallery and the Collie Art Prize (CAP2025) exhibition. Held at the gallery, this event highlighted the significant cultural and economic impact of the arts in Collie while providing a valuable platform for local businesses to connect and collaborate.
Supported by Workforce Australia Local Jobs South West, (Workforce Australia Local Jobs is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations), this Business Connections event brought together business leaders, artists, and community members to reflect on how the gallery has transformed Collie’s cultural landscape over the past decade.
Since its opening, the Collie Art Gallery has grown into a major regional arts destination, attracting over 4,500 visitors annually, many from outside the region. The CAP2025 exhibition, one of Australia’s richest regional art prizes, is expected to bring in approximately 1,100 visitors, reinforcing Collie’s position as a vibrant cultural and tourism hub.
Attendees had the chance to explore the CAP2025 exhibition, connect with local sponsors, and hear about the ongoing role of the arts in fostering business and tourism growth in the region. The event underscored the importance of investing in cultural initiatives to drive economic opportunities and community engagement.
The event also featured a special presentation by Jonni Taylor, Business Development Advisor for Apprenticeship Support Australia, who provided valuable insights into the apprenticeship process and workforce upskilling.
Jonni’s presentation focused on Clean Energy apprenticeships, highlighting the support available to businesses and the role of workforce development in Australia’s transition to net zero. Attendees gained practical knowledge on how to enrol new apprentices and upskill employees, ensuring Collie’s workforce is prepared for the future.
Additionally, we were delighted to welcome Kate Monaghan, Workforce Australia Local Jobs Employment Facilitator, South West WA, who shared valuable insights on local job opportunities and available incentives for businesses.
