Romilly bought a house in Collie in 2020 with her husband Steve as a place to get away from their busy work life in Perth. Having both spent significant time in the country in their childhoods and travelling around Australia together in their twenties, they were drawn to the slower pace of a country town and the welcoming community of Collie. What started out as a weekend getaway quickly became the place that they preferred spending their time and they were excited about the development, restoration and diversification of the town.

With a background in hospitality, retail, travel and tourism, Rom saw an opportunity to use her skill set to open The Collie Providore in 2023. Previously gaining invaluable experience and business acumen working in leadership roles across these industries and with a passion for customer service, she was ready for the challenge of starting their own small business and excited to bring a new experience to the town for both residents and visitors alike.

After joining the Chamber, Rom became more involved with other local small business owners and with a passion for collaboration and growth decided that joining the committee would be a great way to give back to the community. She looks forward to supporting the local business community and spreading the word about Collie’s exciting future.
