Job Overview:

We are seeking a versatile and hardworking Housekeeping/Catering Utility Worker to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position involves maintaining cleanliness and assisting in the preparation and support of catering services. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping Duties:

Clean and sanitise designated areas including guest rooms, kitchens, dining areas, restrooms, and common spaces.

Perform sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of surfaces.

Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies, soap, and paper products.

Assist with laundry duties, including washing, folding and organising linens.

Report any maintenance issues (leaks, broken equipment) to the supervisor.

Ensure cleanliness standards are maintained in food service and prep areas.

Catering Support Duties:

Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas for events or meals.

Help with food preparation under the supervision of catering staff (basic tasks such as chopping, portioning, and plating).

Ensure catering supplies are properly stocked (plates, utensils, napkins, etc.).

Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.

Transport food and supplies to and from catering events as needed.

Assist with food storage, ensuring items are labelled and stored correctly.

Follow food safety guidelines to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience in commercial housekeeping, or food service is an advantage.

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and food safety standards.

Must hold a Current Food Safety Certificate

Good physical stamina; ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (up to 20kg), and perform repetitive tasks.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.

Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
