Premier Coal are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join the team on a 4 on 4 off roster, dayshift only.

Premier Coal are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join the team on a 4 on 4 off roster, dayshift only.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for leading a team and managing all planned, breakdown and repair maintenance activities of the Coal Handling Plant (CHP) and site Infrastructure as well as communicating changes that will impact the mine priorities. You will be part of a dynamic team culture contributing to the successful performance of the mine.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Lead, coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance and mentoring others
  • Communicate and cooperate effectively with other Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planners, Production Supervisors and other people within Premier Coal.
  • Manage and execute maintenance work using efficient equipment servicing strategies to achieve targeted service times and schedule compliance rates.
  • Executing all preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and shutdown work, minor projects, and reliability improvement initiatives
  • Promoting a team culture of continuous improvement and innovation, including cost saving initiatives
  • Reducing equipment downtime by ensuring all maintenance activities are planned, manned and carried out to a high standard, in a safe and timely manner.
  • Develop and strengthen key internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Planning short and long term work associated with Premier Coal’s Fixed Assets
  • Uncompromising commitment to safety

  • Hold a Trade or Tertiary Qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated leadership capability in a similar role
  • Experience in applying best practice maintenance techniques to optimise equipment availability
  • Possess and maintain a valid drivers licence
  • Experience in SAP maintenance applications will be highly regarded
