We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Maintenance Technician – Mechanical to join our team at our Power Station near Collie. The successful candidate will work in a dedicated and supportive Operations and Maintenance Team, and will be provided with opportunities to grow and develop within the role.

As a Maintenance Technician – Mechanical, you will;

  • Liaising with operations and asset engineering staff to identify and assist with resolving plant faults to maximise unit availability.
  • Ensuring all routines and plant checks are completed with appropriate documentation filed.
  • Ensuring maintenance and performance of unit is maintained so full load and plant availability is achieved.
  • Provide continuous feedback on maintenance activities and plant condition.
  • Ensuring that day-to-day maintenance is performed in a manner consistent with Bluewaters environmental. policies, standards and procedures.
  • Significant involvement in permit requests & conducting task related risk assessments for tasks assigned to you and/or your peers.
  • Carrying out duties that are within their skills, training and competence, and which may be incidental or peripheral to the substantive position.
  • Carrying out workplace inspections to continually improve site housekeeping and safety standards.

  • Computer literacy (SAP, Microsoft suite of products, etc.).
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experienced in SAP and Permit to Work Systems (desirable).

Desirable:

  • Mechanical trade qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Power Station or Heavy Industry experience is well regarded.
  • High Risk Work License’s desirable but not essential: LF, WP, CN, CB & RI.
  • Confined space access training and experience desirable but not essential.

LF: Forklift, WP: Boom type elevating work platform, CN: Non-slewing mobile crane, CB: Bridge and gantry crane licence & RI: Intermediate Rigging or above
