Purchasing Officer
The purchasing officer will ensure that all procurement & purchasing activities are completed in accordance with our polices and procedures in a safe and cost-effective manner. The role supports both maintenance and operational staff through accurate and timely application of existing logistics procedures.

What you’ll do
- Prepare, order and purchase goods, materials and services
- Work closely with Operations and Maintenance to ensure timely procurement of materials and supplies
- Preparing the vendor RFQ and evaluate submissions
- Participate in supplier auditing
- Receive delivery of purchases and verify goods against invoice and purchase orders
- Tracks supplier spend and savings
- Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Liaise with suppliers regarding all aspects of procurement from quote to invoice processing, including raising purchase orders and managing delivery dockets
- Ensure month end responsibilities are completed according to deadlines
- Responsible for annual audit and reporting against stock
- Generate and act on MRP Reports (Material Reorder Report)
What you’ll have
- Proven experience in a Procurement or Purchasing role
- Able to interpret and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements
- Well-rounded analytical, research and evaluation skills
- Commercial savviness with the ability to interpret contractual terms
- Logistics experience is highly desirable
- Strong ERP experience – Microsoft Dynamics AX is a definite advantage
- Experience in Power generation or other heavy industry will be highly regarded
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Some knowledge of the Materials you will be responsible for.
- Self-motivated requiring minimal supervision that can achieve performance goals
- Knowledge and Prior experience using SAP Fiori for materials management
