Rick Wilson, Federal Member for O’Connor
I’m a fourth generation farmer. I was raised on the family farm at Katanning, along with my four sisters and my brother Allan.
Our parents taught us about commitment and dedication, about loyalty and reliability, about kindness and compassion. My brother and I are proud to have built on our father Archie’s legacy and we continue to operate and expand our family farm in his honour.
Our parents also taught us about the importance of community service, about perseverance and about standing up for what you believe in.
My wife Tanya and I have four young children.
As a parent, I understand the real issues facing the electors of O’Connor – cost of living pressures, and the delivery of health and education services.
As a farmer and grain industry leader, I understand the need for better transport solutions and reduced bureaucracy in our businesses.
And I want to make sure my children have the opportunity to grow up in a vibrant rural community, with the same opportunities that city children have.
