Tara van Beuningen
Chamber Chief Executive Officer
Tara joined the Collie Chamber in 2017, bringing with her a passion for community and a strong background in business administration. Her dedication and leadership saw her step into the Executive Officer role in 2021, and in 2024, she was appointed Chief Executive Officer.
Before her time with the Chamber, Tara was the Administration Manager at the Bunbury Geographe Economic Alliance (BGEA), where she built a solid foundation in regional economic development. Her experience, enthusiasm, and genuine care for local businesses make her a valued leader within the Chamber and a trusted support for its members.
Tara is no stranger to the small business world. Having owned and operated a small business locally with her family, she understands firsthand the rewards and challenges business owners face. “I understand the challenges and rewards of owning a small business,” she says. Her passion for helping local business owners thrive aligns closely with the Chamber’s motto: “Working with and for you.”
Having called Collie home since 2000, Tara is proud to live, work, and raise her family in the community she loves. Married with two children, she is excited about Collie’s future and its transformation into a vibrant tourist destination with something for everyone.
Outside of her professional role, Tara enjoys being involved in the community. She volunteers across several local organisations and at her children’s school. She’s also been a dedicated gymnastics coach at Collie PCYC since 2019, helping local kids develop confidence and skills.
Tara loves exploring Collie’s beautiful surroundings, especially through camping and photography. Family time is a top priority, and she delights in planning memorable birthday parties and holiday celebrations. Christmas is her favourite time of year, and she has been instrumental in making the Chamber’s annual Christmas Competition a much-loved community tradition.
With her strong local ties, professional expertise, and genuine passion for the region, Tara remains committed to supporting and growing Collie’s business community.
