Role Summary:

The Community Engagement Advisor is a key point of contact and liaison between local communities and Synergy’s project teams and key stakeholders, supporting the timely development and delivery of Synergy’s renewable energy assets and major projects. Our projects range across the mid-west, the wheat-belt, the south-west, and the great southern regions requiring regular regional travel between our Offices and project sites. We are open to local and part-time applicants.

Key responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Identify, plan, and deliver external community and stakeholder engagement opportunities and activities depending on project phase and engagement objectives.
  • Proactively identify and manage community and stakeholder engagement related risks and take appropriate actions to mitigate or reduce impacts of these risks.
  • Act as a key contact for community members and other stakeholders to deliver project outcomes in line within project timelines ensuring enquiries are responded to in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage administration of community engagement activities, including but not limited to bookings associated to the community program, response to community enquiries, afterhours/ weekend community engagement, planning, creating, and delivering communications materials, evaluation of communication activities and reporting.
  • Deliver a broad range of communications, including print, online, social media and face-to-face, to effectively meet objectives concisely and clearly, consistent with corporate style guides.

What you’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, marketing, media management or a related discipline, or considerable experience in delivering community engagement strategies and providing advice and support at corporate levels in large service-based organisations.
  • Significant experience (5yrs) in a similar stakeholder or community focused role, preferably working on major projects or infrastructure development.
  • Face-to-face community engagement experience.
  • Experience in major infrastructure project development.
  • Considerable experience in developing and implementing communications strategies.
