Jodie Hanns MLA

Jodie was elected to the 41st Parliament of WA on 13 March 2021 as the Member for Collie-Preston. She is incredibly proud to represent the community that she lives in and is committed to.
She was born in Yarloop and attended Yarloop Primary School and Harvey High School, before moving to Perth to complete her teaching degree. She moved to Collie in 2006 with her family.

Jodie worked as a High School teacher and Vocational Education and Training Coordinator in Perth and throughout regional WA. Whilst teaching at Collie Senior High School Jodie’s focus was to help students prepare for employment in the local community. For the last three years of her teaching career, she was a Deputy Principal at the school.
Jodie also served two terms as a Shire Councillor and was the CEO of the Collie Chamber of Commerce & Industry. As part of Premier Mark McGowan’s team, Jodie is working hard to deliver WA Labor’s plan for the South West to create more local jobs, deliver new infrastructure projects and provide quality health and education services for communities like Capel, Collie, Dardanup, Donnybrook, Eaton and Australind.
